I was reading Dr. Kist's book, and the chapter about rural schools really popped out at me. I grew up in a rural community, and there was very little technology available. There were a few computers in the school, but not much else. My senior year, we go a Smart Board, which was huge news, but noone knew how to work it, so it was kind of useless.
why smart boards are so "easy" to use

Naruto vs. Persepolis
I LOVE GRAPHIC NOVELS!!! Who doesn't like a book that has so many pictures? lol. JK. I was so impressed with Persepolis. It was very deep and intriguing. there was a lot of depth and meaning involved. I was not expecting it at all! I would love to bring it into my classroom if I am able to.
Naruto was fun to read, but I cannot see myself teaching it. I will, however, have it offered for my students to read during free time or for lit circles. My main goal as of late is to collect novels for my classroom in every genre and every type. I want there to be books available for everyone to read. I really want to keep in touch with my students and know what they like. I want to make reading enjoyable for my students, because I feel like too many kids do not like to read. It should not be like that, I would love to bring the joy of reading to my students!

2nd Life
Recently in class we were introduced to "2ND life" it was like we were living in a virtual world. I twas a lot of fun even though there were technical difficulties. I do not feel like this is something that will go into my class, but it will be something that I can at least introduce to my students.
I wa laughing so hard when we were doing this in class. it was so much fun. I loved watching the people ance and fly. It was too funny. We made our avatar look like she was 400 pounds with really short shorts and a short shirt. It was discusting and too funny.

WIKI
I was not sure if I was going to like doing a Wiki, but I really enjoyed myself, and can see myself bringing one into my classroom! They are so handy! It is a really great way to get the class cooperating and putting all of our ideas together! Reading through the wiki that we created in class, there are so many good ideas that everyone has shared! It is a wonderful resource for all of us to use in our teaching futures!
I think it would be cool to use these in the class when we are studying a novel. I think it would be a good idea to give each student a topic, a character, a chapter.. etc... and have them make a page on it! it would be a great review for the exam, and a great way to understand a novel and get the class together!
I am very excited to get started on our final film projects! I think they are going to be a lot of fun to make, and even more fun to watch.
